Nero d'Avola

 

 

From the gentle hills of Sicily, comes this dark purple red wine with violet hues, with characteristic aromas of ripe red fruit and raspberries. The palate is full-bodied, velvety tannins. Recommended with red meat dishes, sausages, roasts, meats and cheeses.

 

Serving Temperature: 61-64* F

Altitude: from 350 up to 390 m a.s.l.

Type of soil: calcareous layers and mixed clay

Cultivation: espallier at a density of 4000 vines per hectare

Trimming: guyot method and cordone speronato

Grape harvest: late september, first days of october

Vinification: de-stemming maceration on the skins for 15/18 days at a controller temperature; fermentation in stainless steel containers.
